Restasis is one of the most commonly prescribed ophthalmic medications to treat dry eye-- but does it work? In our practices, we almost never prescribe this drug as first line therapy to our patients. In a recent publication in JAMA internal medicine, two physicians outline the inherit shortcomings of Restasis in clinical practice. We agree.
